At the Rats of Tobruk WA Remembrance Assoc., we believe in creating a better future through innovation and collaboration. To create and maintain a community awareness of the heroic actions and legacy of Australia’s legendary fighting force known as ‘The Rats of Tobruk’ and their contribution to our Nation’s proud military heritage.
The Association shall be an incorporated body and shall be called
RATS OF TOBRUK WA REMEMBRANCE ASSOCIATION INC.
Mission Statement:
To create and maintain a community awareness of the heroic actions and legacy of Australia’s legendary fighting force known as ‘The Rats of Tobruk’ and their contribution to our Nation’s proud military heritage.
Objectives:
The objects of the Association are:
(a) to engage the community at all levels in the furtherance of our Mission Statement.
(b) to foster an appreciation of the sacrifices made by our soldiers, especially during the Siege of Tobruk in 1941
(c) to inspire current and future generations to adopt the spirit of mateship and patriotism which guided them to victory.
(d) to participate in community and military-orientated commemorative services and events.
(e) to create promotional, research and social activities which encourage Rats of Tobruk public awareness and fellowship amongst members of the Association.
(f) to establish mutually supportive affiliation with kindred military historical and support entities.
(g) to initiate Rats of Tobruk awareness programs such as offering speakers for community service clubs, school education programs and similar audiences.
(h) to promote the Association’s activities by way of radio and television, websites, print and social media, public notices and regular newsletters to Members, interested persons and entities.
(i) to encourage families of descendants of the Rats of Tobruk and other supporters to join this Association.
We welcome you to the Rats of Tobruk WA Remembrance Assoc. and if you wish to become a financial member, please see our membership form on our "Forms and Notices" page, within this site. Complete and email to our secretary. Once your membership form is received, an invoice will be forwarded to you for payment. Payment can be either by EFT to bank details on invoice, direct bank deposit visiting a P&N Bank, Cheque or Cash paid at one of our meetings. (No EFTPOS available).
